Founded by Leo Schnupp, our story began with a simple canvas swing and grew into a globally trusted brand in luxury outdoor living. With a heritage rooted in craftsmanship and innovation, Leo’s early experience manufacturing awnings and defense materials during World War II laid the foundation for what would become a leader in high-end shade solutions.

After the war, Leo recognized the need for robust, stylish umbrellas in Florida's sun-soaked climate. As the only umbrella manufacturer south of Pennsylvania at the time, Schnupp pioneered weather-resistant fabrics that stood up to salt, sun, and moisture.
